MEDEL expresses its full support and solidarity with Judge Vladislava Tzarigradska and all Bulgarian magistrates who openly defend the rule of law and, in spite of threats, openly speak about the attacks on the independence of the judiciary.
On 20 March 2024 MEDEL, EAJ, Judges for Judges and AEAJ sent a letter to Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Dunja Mijatović, and EU Commissioner for Justice Mr. Didier Reynders, regarding the situation of the judiciary in Bulgaria and the alarming developments concerning Judge Vladislava Tzarigradska.
