The public conference “Filing, Inform citizens – Passport for the protection of personal data” aims to present the European project of the same name, and an inventory of the different European practices on public data filing.
The inventory covers the European Union level (SIS II, VIS, EURODAC, ECRIS) and 14 Member States in four areas: education, health, police and justice. The partners of the project then utilised this inventory to carry out analysis and create communications tools addressed to a wide audience. Both the tools and analysis will be presented and discussed at the Conference.
This conference will be the opportunity to engage in a substantial dialogue with stakeholders working on data protection, such as European and national institutions as well as civil society, and to discuss the European legal framework on the matter.
This European project, coordinated by the French Ligue des Droits de l’Homme (LDH), brings together several partners such as the European Association for the Defence of Human Rights (AEDH), Hungarian Civil Liberties Union from Hungary, Humanistische Union from Germany, ALOS–LDH from Luxembourg and MEDEL, network of European Magistrates for Democracy and Freedom.

La conférence publique « Fichage, informer les citoyens : Passeport pour la protection des données personnelles » présentera le projet européen du même nom et un état des lieux des différentes pratiques européennes en termes de fichage institutionnel.
Celui-ci couvre le niveau de l’Union européenne (SIS II, VIS, EURODAC, ECRIS) et 14 de ses Etats membres, dans quatre domaines : l’éducation, la santé, la police et la justice. Cet état des lieux a conduit à la réalisation d’analyses et d’outils de communication grand public qui seront présentés et débattus lors de la Conférence.
Cette conférence sera l’occasion d’engager un dialogue avec les différents acteurs (Institutions européennes et nationales, société civile) qui sont concernés par la protection des données personnelles. Il sera aussi question d’amener une discussion sur le cadre juridique européen en la matière.
Ce projet européen, coordonné par la Ligue des Droits de l’Homme française (LDH), réunit différents partenaires dont l’AEDH, l’Association Européenne pour la Défense des Droits de l’Homme, Hungarian Civil Liberties Union de Hongrie, Humanistische Union d’Allemagne, ALOS–LDH du Luxembourg, MEDEL, réseau des Magistrats Européens pour la Démocratie et les Libertés.
