Medel was represented by Mariarosaria Guglielmi, Monika Frackowiak and Iulia Craiu in the conference “Judges in the crisis of democracies”, organized in Florence on November 29 with the participation of academics, magistrates and practitioners, to discuss the issues related to the role of judges in the current context of erosion of democracy and attacks on the rule of law at a global level.
Medel shared testimonies on the difficult experiences faced by judges in Poland and Romania, and contributed to the analysis of the Italian context, with special regard to the risks to the rule of law associated with the recently approved constitutional reform of the judicial system.
