On December 9th, 2017, MEDEL held its Council of Administration meeting in Kraków, Poland, preceded by a conference held on December 8th in the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, co-organized by Iustitia, MEDEL and the Jagiellonian University, subject to the theme “COURTS MANAGEMENT AND ACCESS TO JUSTICE SYSTEM”.
The conference was highly participated and had speakers from various countries and judicial systems.

In the Council of Administration, a new Bureau of MEDEL was elected (as announced in this webpage) and reports were presented on the situation in Poland and Spain.
The Turkish situation and the ongoing trials against YARSAV members were also addressed in the meeting.
MEDEL expressed its concern about the ongoing reforms taken by Polish authorities in the Judiciary and expressed its full solidarity with Polish magistrates and its member association Iustitia, having approved a statement which will be publicly released in the next days.
MEDEL members have also been present in the demonstration held in front of the Kraków Court, protesting against the changes approved in the Polish Parliament.
