On September 27th, 2024, MEDEL and its member association – Bulgarian Judges Association – held in Sofia the international conference on “The role of magistrates’ associations in nurturing legal culture and protection of vulnerable groups”.
The conference provided a forum for presenting experiences and lessons learned on the role of judicial associations in the dialogue with civil society, against the backdrop of the current context of rule of law backsliding and attacks on the independence of the judiciary.
With the contribution of experts, in two sessions of the conference we shared experiences and knowledge on fundamental rights protection and effective access to justice for the most vulnerable, as pillars of both human development and implementation of the Rule of law.
