A delegation of MEDEL composed by Mariarosaria Guglielmi, Monika Frąckowiak and Iria González was received in Brussels by the new EU Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection Michael McGrath.
The delegation expressed MEDEL’s deep concern about Rule of law backsliding in Europe, focusing mainly on recent attacks against judges and their decisions, structural reforms aiming at weakening key institutions of the judiciary and systemic violations of CJEU and ECtHR rulings.
